The substance of life is as fragile and vulnerable as fabric that needs mending from the wear and tear of daily existence. Priya Ravish Mehra’s practice incorporates the unpredictable and unforeseen possibilities of the textiles, with ruptures and wounds acquiring a deeper significance. Mehra began working with the organic material in her later years, combining natural fibres extracted from paper pulp and bark to create an expressive texture. Hanging textile works by the artist, who passed away in 2018, will be presented by Threshold Gallery.
