When the Day Belongs to the Night

Supported by: Sabrina Amrani

Sabrina Amrani Gallery is pleased to present When the day belongs to the night, a project specifically created for India Art Fair 2017 by Joël Andrianomearisoa. The artist was interested in envisioning a project that speaks to India’s complex, and multiplicitous landscape of experiences, as well as to his own aesthetic interests in textiles. When the day belongs to the night is a triptych of tapestries, each of which is more than 9 meters in length and 2 meters high, in minimalist designs that only reveal underlying structures and yield a richer conversation when one moves closer to them.

This project is supported by Thibault Poutrel Contemporary Art (TPCA).
