Moving Still: Performative Photography in India

Vancouver Art Gallery‘s new exhibition Moving Still: Performative Photography in India explores themes of migration, gender, religion and national identity through the lens of performative photography. The exhibition focuses on the photo-based practices of contemporary artists who are rooted in the diversity of cultures within the country, while at the same time engaging in a global dialogue.

Participating artists include Nikhil Chopra, Anita Dube, Gauri Gill, Sunil Gupta, Ranbir Kaleka, Naveen Kishore, Sonia Khurana, Pushpamala N, Tejal Shah, Umrao Singh Sher-Gil, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II, Kiran Subbaiah and Vivan Sundaram.
