Art Alive Gallery‘s group show brings together three exemplary artists – Purvai Rai, Suman Chandra and Divya Singh – whose works
define the cusp of the contemporary in India, whether it is their aesthetic or conceptual concerns. While Purvai Rai’s research on textile comes to the fore in this exhibition, Suman Chandra gives attention to the state of labourers in the coal mines of West Bengal and Jharkhand, and Divya Singh contemplates cultural memory, each of them using different media and materials to express themselves.
