DAG is seeking a knowledgeable and personable Art Advisor to join their team. The Art Advisor will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the art buying process, providing expert advice on art selection, and fostering long-term relationships with collectors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the art market, excellent communication skills, and a passion for connecting people with art.
Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts such as Fine Arts or Art History 

-5-8 years’ experience in an art gallery or related sales role 

-Must have a strong understanding of Indian modern art 

-Excellent communication skills 

-Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well with clients 

-Fluency in English essential, other languages an advantage 

-Be flexible with working hours if/when required

Key Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with the gallery team to plan and execute exhibitions and events.

– Manage relationships with customers, clients, visitors and update customer databases.

– Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales, and inventory.

– Guide clients through the art buying process, providing expert advice on art selection.

– Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities

– A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills

– Engaged and interested in continually learning about artists and the art world and being able to use that in conversation with artists, clients, patrons, and key stakeholders.
