In the Industrial backwaters of Delhi thrive a few hyper contemporary galleries that are the gateway for many new artists to release their works. IAF would like to invite you to a Collectors Night which is an Industry Prowl of three significant galleries tucked away in the labyrinth of the Okhla Factories that have been building fantastic collections and running deep programming and supporting the artists.
This is going to be a night of Gallery Hopping.

VESSEL, by Osheen Siva
Exploring concepts of Dalit Futures/Dalitfuturism, inspired by Afrofuturism, Siva delves into science fiction, technology, sociology, mythology, and lived and imagined futures; imagining alternative ‘futurities’, challenging at the same time the status quo of the future placed as an horizon by capitalism. Under a traditional linear representation of time, the present is open to many – if not infinite – futures. The word ‘futurity’ offers a wider meaning. If we think of it as ‘the quality or the state of being future’, we could state that the present belongs to a futurity: even if it is not future, it has the quality of being future.

India Art Fair’s Young Collectors Programme, supported by Ruby’s Signature and curated by archaeologist and art historian Anica Mann, is a gateway to getting to know contemporary South Asian art. Taking place from 4 to 12 February at the Young Collectors Hub at Bikaner House in New Delhi, the programme is the perfect opportunity to discover new galleries and learn about various forms of art beyond traditional canvas paintings, such as photography, sculpture, video art, books, music and performance art. Specially designed for the culturally curious and new collectors, the Young Collectors Programme will also be great place to network and explore an exciting line-up of parallel events in the city.
