Kalakriti Art Gallery presents, Belonging to the Soil or the People? Art in Myanmar Over a Decade. India and Myanmar share a border of 1,643 kilometers from China to Bangladesh. Yet, there was little exchange since the 1960s. Though there are plenty of sources to gather information, when it comes to knowledge of “what’s happening in Myanmar”, there seems to be very little. India is not alone in this regard. Myanmar is not a well-studied travel destination, nor are its institutions necessarily open to exchange. Its recent history is fraught with political violence, unstable government, and a struggle for more democratic rule. Frankly, it’s hard to keep up with all the changes and their historical significance as an outsider.
