Thecurators.art present Bloom where you are Planted showcasing the works of 5 talented artists from across the country including Bhaskar Botcha, Nidhi Jacob, Sandeep Jigdung, Shampa Sircar Das & Siddharth Shingade from 15 – 21 August, 2023 at the Auditorium Hall, Jehangir Art gallery, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai.
The show is both a celebration of mother Nature; and metaphorically means to grow and flourish despite circumstances, thrive in entirety for today – as we live in unpredictable times. While the artists have diverse explorations of the theme, botanicals and nature are the springboard for their creative impetus. Nidhi and Sandeep showcase the beauty of flowering plants, Bhaskar and Shingade use the culturally significant tree as their recurring muse. Shampa interlays figurative artworks with motifs from nature.
The artists also address an urgent need to live more responsibly within the Earth’s finite resources, and help us imagine a liveable future on our planet – while reminding us of our obligation to work together to take action to reverse the onslaught of man-made threats to our natural world. The show is a collective ode to Indian forests and the rich bio-diversity it supports.
