Akar Prakar presents Breathe Closer to the Skin, a solo exhibition by artist Jayashree Chakravarty. The show focuses on a large-scale immersive installation titled ‘Experience of the Land’, along with the artists latest body of work, expanding on her investigation of nature and ecology by exploring the idea of nest-like inhabitant spaces.
Jayashree Chakravarty is a Kolkata-based Indian visual artist, working with the medium of paintings, and large-scale installations of paper with mixed media. Rooted in the themes of ecology and nature and inventing her own creative techniques, using organic material and varied kinds of papers, her installations in the form of paper scrolls remain unique in their conceptions and execution.
