Art historian Sindhura D. Manjunath will talk about her recent curatorial, research and design projects, including Mutable: Ceramic Art in India since 1947 at the Piramal Museum of Art and an ongoing project in a cruise ship sailing on the Ganga based inspired by mid-century Indian and international design.
Sindhura D. Manjunath is an art historian and curator based in Bengaluru, India. She heads a branch of Jackfruit Research and Design. As part of Jackfruit, she has led curatorial and writing projects on the artists Parvathi Nayar and Seema Kohli for Gallery Veda, Chennai and the under-35 section of the New Delhi-based Gallery Espace’s 25th-anniversary exhibition, Drawing 2014 and Mutable | Ceramic and Clay Art in India Since 1947, Piramal Art Museum, in 2017. She also conceptualizes and manages Jackfruit on the Ganga, a boutique for Indian craft based in Kolkata. Her research and curatorial interests focus on drawing, design, textiles and ceramics.
