Galerie Ganesha presents Devi, a solo show by Roohan Segel featuring paper collages. The show is her exploration of women in Hindu mythology, with an emphasis on Sita from the Ramayana.
Segel’s view is that contrary to the common perception of a mild, submissive, self-sacrificing woman, is the strong, fearless and independent individual who chooses her destiny and challenges norms and customs and circumstances at every step. This series, is her exploration of that aspect of the feminine that she can respect and love and aspire to.
