PEER presents a show of ceramic and wood sculptures from Tanzanian artist, Lubna Chowdhary. The show is in part derived from Chowdhary’s research into colonial period furniture in the Victoria and Albert Museum collection carried out during her ceramic fellowship residency there in 2017. The title of this exhibition, Erratics, refers to large rocks or boulders that have been displaced from their original geological context through glacial flows. While retaining their material integrity they have permanently settled in a new, alien context.
