Blueprint 12 presents I am ok. and other lies I tell by Pittsburgh-based artist Bakula Nayak.
The exhibition features a selection of drawings, paintings, photo collages and assemblages from Bakula’s new body series that taps into large feminist discourses referencing patriarchal notions of physical beauty, gendered medical practices and limited access to care.
Though deeper reflection is often prompted only when all is not well, the artworks in Bakula’s exhibition spring from a place of hope and acceptance.
