Anant Art Gallery presents Intangible World of a Stranger by Kerala born artist and painter, Tito Stanley SJ. Featuring new paintings by the artist, that amalgamates grief and light with mysticism, the exhibition raises diverse questions and meanings to the existing notions of life and death.
In his works, Stanley is both the performer and the ringmaster, presenting us an upside-down world where wistful environments are seldom peaceful, where calm and meditative figures are cloaked with anxiety and loss, and where seemingly bright landscapes and pageantry is anything but so.
Stanley’s canvases are not merciful – in their deliberate attempt to remove any straight navigation to meaning, they are all at once a polyphony of our reality.
