GALLERYSKE presents Is the Water Chavdar? , a personal homage by Rajyashri Goody, to the undocumented 10,000 who journeyed along with Babasaheb Ambedkar, for days through hostile towns and villages, to reach Chavdar tank in Maharashtra.
This body of work brings together ceramics, printmaking, paper pulp, and adapted recipes developed over the last three years, as evidence of this powerful and transformative moment – for those who joined Babahaheb in the march, and for the millions of us who have come after.
Rajyashri’s art practice is informed by her background in the social sciences, along with her personal history. Through the usage of various mediums, including writing, ceramics, photography, and installation, she attempts to decode and make visible instances of everyday power and resistance within Dalit communities in India.
