Anant Art Gallery presents, Migrants in the Museum, a solo show by Probir Gupta. An artist and activist based in New Delhi, he is known for his socially engaged paintings, sculptures and installation work, which have built up a complex image base of resistance. Drawing his references from history, world economy, cinema, media and mythology, his activist endeavour comments on the urgencies of the present. Probir received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata in 1981 and went on to study at the École National Supérieure de Beaux-arts, Paris the following year. He continued to live and work in Paris until 1987 before coming back to India.
