‘Modern Fetish’, is the solo exhibition of Manish Sharma, at Art Centrix Space. The idea of the exhibition primarily talks about the development of Manish’s artistic practice and vocabulary over more than two decades as well as Bikaner as his hometown and a conceptual site being present in his artistic inquires.
The exhibition also primarily centered around the notion of ‘fetish’ to the objects, which are at different levels connected to our historical pasts and psychological spaces of the present in the forms of desire and patterns of consumption. The exhibition will not only bring forth a sense of design practice through which today’s human condition is being constructed but also the exhibition will highlight aspects of abandonment of memories and how such memories in the present interpellate in newer forms through consumptions and conservations.
