The European Cultural Centre presents Riderless World by Sonal Ambani, a sculpture created as a eulogy for the countless souls lost to Covid.
Part of the ECC’s 6th edition of Personal Structures series, Riderless World is a bronze horse with its tail and a part of its abdomen broken apart. It reflects the state of the world in the wake of a most unforgiving pandemic that left us dazed and staggered as a civilization. People from all around the world are encouraged to add the names of the loved ones they have lost to Covid on the website. This ever expanding list of names scrolls slowly on a wall behind the horse to honour and memorialise all those we have lost.
