APRE Art House
APRE Art House is a contemporary art gallery in Colaba, Mumbai, dedicated to advancing rigorous artistic practices and meaningful cultural discourse. Founded by Prerna S. M. Jain, an alumna of Christie’s Education, New York, the gallery was formalised in 2022 as a two-level exhibition space committed to both emerging and established voices whose work engages with experimental, socio-political, and gender-oriented concerns. APRE’s reach extends beyond Mumbai, with curated exhibitions in New York and New Delhi, and participation in significant art fairs including the India Art Fair.
Its public programming- spanning panel discussions, performances, and film screenings- reflects a belief in interdisciplinary engagement as central to contemporary practice. The gallery is recognised for its museum-calibre exhibitions, transparency, and long-term relationships with artists, collectors, and institutions.
Extending beyond exhibition-making, APRE operates as a discursive and developmental space through initiatives such as Front Matter- it’s curatorial conversation series, which includes the annual Curatorial Intensive, and Corpus, a performance-focused intensive. The APRE Artist Grant further reflects the gallery’s commitment to supporting research-led and conceptually robust practices. APRE positions itself as a site of serious inquiry within the South Asian contemporary art landscape, contributing substantively to global conversations in art and culture.
