Ashvita’s is a fine art gallery based in Chennai (Madras). Our primary focus is on the Madras School where we examine and navigate three centuries of artistic development and practices from this region. Our exhibition program weaves a balanced and well planned series of curated displays where individual histories are highlighted to create expansive narratives when viewed as a whole. Our exhibitions are well researched and curated from within our own collection as well as from lending collectors, galleries and institutions. Each exhibition is supported by a series of talks, tours and discussions.

Ashvita’s was established in 2002 and has since held over 110 exhibitions of pre-independence, modern, contemporary and regional art. In the last three years we have been collaborating with galleries across the country to take the Madras School to diverse audiences. Ashvita’s represents several artist’s estates as well as works with a select group of young and emerging contemporary artists from Chennai.
