Atelier Ashiesh Shah is a design studio that seeks to dissolve the boundaries between art and design, serving as a collaborative extension of Ashiesh Shah’s architectural studio. The studio’s primary mission is the revival of India’s rich craft heritage, with a focus on handcrafted pieces that pay homage to the essence of Indian craftsmanship. It empowers the ‘karigar’ – master craftsmen from across the nation – to collectively craft design objects that exude artisanship blended with a contemporary sensibility.  Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of ‘wabi-sabi,’ the design objects in Atelier’s portfolio celebrate beauty in imperfection through a collection of meticulously handcrafted treasures. These creations are underpinned by principles of geometry, sustainability, and empowerment, representing a harmonious symphony of inventive minds uniting to tell stories of evolving aesthetics.
