In 2005, Devi Art Foundation was born out of a desire to facilitate the viewership of creative expression and artistic practice. At the core of it is a contemporary art collection from India and other parts of South Asia. By presenting art from all over the subcontinent, the Foundation hopes to invoke a sense of shared history within the region. Along with providing a platform for contemporary artists, it hopes to interact closely with and encourage young curators and critics, helping to give voice to their concerns. Continuing traditions of arts from India also find a substantial representation in the collection of Devi Art Foundation. The Foundation renews its commitment towards integrating art into the discourse of public life by creating invigorating Education and Outreach Programmes.
