Tao Art Gallery

Established in the year 2000, the Tao Art Gallery has developed into a well-recognized brand in the Mumbai art space. Founded by collector and curator, Kalpana Shah, it has dealt with the different contexts of art as it evolved in the Indian landscape from the Modern Masters to the newer Contemporaries. In its 25 years, Tao has curated uniquely conceptualised shows highlighting diverse art forms like Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, Performance Art as well as Installation Art in its two exhibition spaces. Both across India and internationally the gallery has maintained a steady presence through the decades: The Indian Masters showcase at the TATE Britain in 2005, Unesco Power of Peace in Bali, 2007, INDIART TOKYO at the Ueno Royal Museum, 2007, and most recently a showcase of our Indian contemporary artists at the Caudan Arts Centre Mauritius in 2021 and Arte Laguna Prize, Venice, 2020-2021.
