WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
If you are:
- A fast-thinking, approachable and adaptable person
- A dynamic communicator proficient in both English and Hindi [and more languages is a plus!]
- Keen to learn about South Asian Art, Culture and Design through a research-intensive curated training programme
- Someone who can move about 10k-20k steps a day (we are not joking!)
- Available from October 15, 2025 — February 8, 2026, for scheduled online learning modules and once a month in-person training in Delhi. (In case you are not based in Delhi NCR, please mention that in your application)
- Someone who enjoys interacting with diverse audiences and conducting research

THE STRUCTURE OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMME
Please note: these modules take place online and in-person and are accompanied with reading lists.
MODULE 1: Art History: The genres and industry of modern and contemporary art [online]
MODULE 2: Cultural Institutions: Global and local industry mapping of galleries, museums, foundations
MODULE 3: Mediums: From photography to print, film to canvas and living traditions on display at India Art Fair Delhi
MODULE 4: Know-How: Learning the curation and design of tours, timing and storytelling
MODULE 5: The Fair Grounds: Extensive Map study of India Art Fair and on-site conduct, audience management, tour etiquette
MODULE 6: Practical Skills: Learn from in-person curated tours by Shaleen at select galleries and museums
MODULE 7 & 8: Testing Theory: Conduct in-person tours yourself at select museums and galleries in Delhi
MODULE 9: IAF Tour Themes: Allocation of themes to the guides and Content Research
MODULE 10: Review: On-site practice, feedback, assessment and approval
ABOUT OUR CURATOR | SHALEEN WADHWANA
Shaleen Wadhwana [she/her] is an independent arts educator, researcher, and curator. Her practice explores historical and contemporary artistic responses to social justice issues through public programming at museums, universities, fairs, festivals, galleries and heritage sites. Her academic research, showcased through The Unfiltered History Tour at The British Museum, London, won 112 awards locally and globally for India. She is the Curatorial Mentor and co-creator of IMMERSE, an artist & curator residency program, sits on the Asia Acquisition Committee at KADIST, a global non-profit contemporary art organisation and is the MAITRI India Curator for the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial, Australia, 2027.
