Sashikanth Thavudoz, the 2024 winner of the prestigious ‘The Future is Born of Art’ Commission, brings his thought-provoking design to life with an awe-inspiring installation titled Symphony of Nature: The Harmonic Forest. Known for his work that bridges the organic and industrial worlds, Thavudoz offers a poignant exploration of our connection to the land through materials like wood, copper, and illuminated lights. His practice focuses on creating immersive, site-specific works that reveal the hidden narratives of materials and places.
Inspired by BMW’s core value of Forwardism, Thavudoz’s installation for the all-electric BMW i7 presents a balanced relationship between nature and technology. “Forwardism is more than a concept—it’s a continuous journey that embodies responsible creativity amid rapid change,” says Thavudoz. His installation invites us to reflect on the fragility of the natural world and the need for a sustainable future where human progress and the environment coexist harmoniously.
The artist, based in Baroda, Gujarat, brings his extensive experience in engaging with local communities, landscapes, and raw materials into this large-scale, multi-sensory artwork. His use of simple, locally sourced materials reflects his belief that every element has its own story to tell, allowing viewers to reconnect with their surroundings in profound ways.
Sashikanth Thavudoz’s visionary work will be unveiled at India Art Fair 2024, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the future of art and design, where nature and innovation converge in perfect harmony.
