Method Bandra’s latest exhibition of works by twelve Indian artists pays tribute to Dr. Albert Hoffman’s famous bicycle ride from April 1943.
Dr. Hoffman, a Swiss chemist, synthesised Lysergic Acid Diethylamide in 1938 as a medical stimulant. His first bicycle ride after a dose of this acid revealed its psychedelic nature and became popular as the Bicycle Day.
Taking a critical look at the culture that developed around this controversial substance, Method Bandra presents works printed on perforated blotting paper, promising a visual psychedelic trip. Artists include Kim Kaul, Kunel Gaur, Osheen Siva, Priyesh Trivedi, Rema Chaudhary, Rohan Joglekar, RuiningMagazines, Santanu Hazarika, Sid G, Tarini Sethi, thebigfatminimalist and Tyler Street Art.
