TARQ presents how many songs from a single note?, a solo show by Sarah Naqvi.
Based between Mumbai and Amsterdam, Naqvi’s artwork powerfully juxtaposes dissent with the tenderness of domestic sphere. Their work delves in narratives around religious and societal polarisation. The exhibition explores identity-based injustice, depicted through the medium of video installations, tapestries, drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Using humour and familiar visual language, they communicate the complexities of identity in an accessible form.
Forcing its spectators to re-examine the meanings of safety and resistance, Naqvi’s artwork is intimate, defiant, and nuanced.
