Emami Art presents Imaginarium, its first open call exhibition featuring recent works by 10 young artists from art colleges in Bengal, as part of its EA – Locus in Focus programme.
The exhibition provides a platform for these artists to create a dialogue between different approaches and ideas of contemporary art, where local communities–place, people and imagination–play vital roles. Exploring a wide range of materials and techniques, the works highlight diverse concerns including the relationship between the aesthetic and quotidian in our everyday life. Imaginarium is not solely concerned with the present and the current discourse, but also the imminent hopes and possibilities subsumed in these artworks.
Artists part of this exhibition include Poojan Gupta, Enjamul Islam, Akshay Maity, Tufan Pramanik, Pathik Sahoo, Amar Deashi, Santanu Debnath, Gayatri Halder, Deepak Poulose and Skarma Sonam Tashi.
