Sanchit Art presents a group show Realism in Abstraction.
A large canvas by Sanjay Bhattacharya who likes to explore vast surfaces, ‘Kalighat’ will be the centrepiece of the show. He attempts to capture the ambience of religious spaces, concentrating on forms and contours rather than any religious theme in particular. Other highlights include an abstract work by Ram Kumar with sweeping strokes of paint that evoke the exultation of natural spaces, jottings of Ganesh Pyne, rich with visual depth in which every single stroke appears charged with muted eloquence, and a pair of drawings by Jogen Chowdhury with his signature technique where each line acquires an organic form pulsating with life.
