Gallery Espace present shape of a surface, a solo exhibition of works by abstractionist Mekhala Bahl.
The show will include Bahl’s recent multimedia flatworks and sculptures that “speak of her intense engagement with materials and processes, and reference, through complex layering and mark-making, the psychological and emotive states of being that lie beneath and within surfaces,” writes Latika Gupta, curatorial advisor, in her catalogue essay. Bahl’s work layers material and print-making techniques in order to marshal the subconscious.
