The fifth edition of the Emami Art Experimental Film Festival marked a new chapter with a moving-image exhibition featuring expanded cinema and installations by Indian and international artists, alongside Students’ Experimental Cinema, spotlighting emerging voices in experimental filmmaking. A platform for alternative and experimental film and moving-image practices, EAEFF brings together artists, filmmakers, scholars, and audiences through screenings, workshops, masterclasses, and conversations. This year, India Art Fair selected six filmmakers from the festival’s selection whose practices reflect innovative approaches to moving image and emerging artistic voices.

Venue: Experimenter – Hindustan Road, Kolkata

The much-anticipated Experimenter Curators’ Hub returned on July 17–18, 2026. This year, India Art Fair supported the two-day programme, which brought together leading curators from across the globe and created a space for deep thinking, dialogue, and exchange around curatorial practice and exhibition-making today.

Venue: Christie’s London, UK

South Asia on the global stage once again – Christie’s presented The Meeting Ground: Scenes from the KNMA Collection, from July 16, until August 21, 2026. A landmark collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), showcasing modern and contemporary multimedia works from South Asia through carefully curated scenes drawn from the museum’s extraordinary collection.

Venue: India International Centre, New Delhi

Observing the bicentennial of photography, Image Worlds: Hybridity symposium, that took place on July 31 and August 01, 2026, brought together contemporary artists, curators, writers, and theorists to reflect on how image-making continues to evolve. Using the idea of hybridity as a starting point, this two-day symposium explored changing artistic practices, histories, and ways of understanding images across visual and written forms, extending the conversation to wider audiences through India Art Fair’s outreach network.

City: Leh–Kargil Corridor, Ladakh

The world’s highest regenerative art initiative, centred on climate, culture, and community, the Biennale Signals from Another Star took place from August 1–10, 2026. Grounded in principles of regeneration, learning, and ethical engagement, it unfolded as a non–white–cube initiative across Ladakh’s lived landscapes. Its outreach was strengthened through conversations and networks across India’s contemporary art ecosystem, including connections facilitated through India Art Fair, extending the Biennale’s reach while remaining grounded in a long-term, ethical, and climate-conscious approach to cultural exchange.

Venue: Raw Mango, Chennai

Avtar Foundation for The Arts presented On Patronage: Public Impact, Private Collections, on August 8, 2026, a conversation supported by India Art Fair. Umah Jacob, India Art Fair joined Anu Menda, Meha Patel, Jaiveer Johal, and Siddharth H. Somaiya for a discussion on the evolving role of patrons in fostering mentorship, public engagement, and the long-term development of artistic practices. The conversation also explored how regional perspectives, personal philosophies, and collaborative networks are shaping new approaches to supporting artists, institutions, and cultural ecosystems today.

Venue: Bikaner House, New Delhi

Delhi Contemporary Art Week returned for its 9th edition for a week of exhibitions, walkthroughs and conversations. Each edition builds on uniting artists, galleries, collectors and audiences for a week that celebrates the depth and diversity of South Asian contemporary art. As part of the week’s programme, India Art Fair presented In the Company of Artists, a curated speed-meet and interactive walkthrough in collaboration with Delhi Contemporary Art Week. Featuring six exceptional artists, each represented by a distinguished gallery, the programme offered audiences an intimate opportunity to discover the ideas, influences, and processes shaping their practices through meaningful conversation and exchange.

IAF EDI+IONS Ahmedabad began with a city-wide programme on 18 September, taking us across Ahmedabad’s galleries, museums, institutions and creative spaces, before coming together for two unforgettable days, 19 and 20 September, at the beautiful Baronet House (Sanjay M.S. Raval Skill Centre).

Across the two days, we brought together 18 leading galleries, including five galleries based in Ahmedabad, alongside two design participants and one institution — spotlighting the city’s vibrant art and design ecosystem alongside leading contemporary voices from across India.

It was a weekend filled with art, conversations, discoveries and new connections.

To everyone who joined us and shared in this art adventure — thank you. We deeply value your engagement, curiosity and enthusiasm, and the incredible warmth with which you welcomed IAF EDI+IONS into the city.

The second edition of Ahmedabad Cultural Week (ACW Ed.2 ) responds to the growing urgency of the climate crisis by bringing attention to its far-reaching environmental and social consequences. Through collective activation of cultural spaces. ACW Ed.2 aims to underline the shifting global temperatures and its long term impact.

City: Santiniketan and Kolkata, West Bengal

Rooted in a rich legacy of culture, art, literature, and interdisciplinary practices, West Bengal’s primary urban-cultural axis from Kolkata to Santiniketan, returns with Bengal Biennale 2026-27. Bringing together over 100+ artists across more than 20 venues, the Biennale presents exhibitions, performances, and public art interventions.

Serendipity Arts Festival returns to Panjim for its 11th edition, with eight days of visual arts, craft, music, dance, theatre, culinary arts, film, and ideas, unfolding across the city’s most iconic spaces. The Festival has always been about what happens when artists, audiences, and a city come together with openness.

City: Jodhpur, Rajasthan

SITE Jodhpur, formerly known as Jodhpur Arts Week, brings together art, architecture, ecology, design, craft, technology, folklore, and pedagogy in active collision. More than a festival, it is a site-responsive platform where the city itself becomes the medium, unfolding across its streets, stepwells, and structures as a space for encounter, exchange, and experimentation.

India Art Fair returns with bigger ideas and bolder voices for its 18th edition from 4 – 7 February 2027. Across four days, the region’s leading galleries, artists, collectors, institutions and creative practitioners will come together to celebrate the richness and diversity of South Asian modern and contemporary art. From landmark presentations and ambitious outdoor commissions to thought-provoking conversations, performances and design, the fair continues to be a platform where ideas are exchanged, new discoveries are made, and lasting connections take shape.
