The EAEFF All-India Open Call invites applications for experimental films, videos, and artists’ moving image works. EAEFF is a platform dedicated to curating and building discourses around alternative and experimental practices. The current edition of the festival showcases the works of some of the internationally acclaimed artists and filmmakers alongside recent critical productions from India selected via Open Call.

Awards

Among the selected films that will be screened in the competition section, two films by two different filmmakers/collectives, one from the short-mid duration category and the other from the long-duration category, will be selected by the jury for the Emami Art Experimental Film Awards of Excellence worth 50000 INR (Fifty thousand Indian Rupees) each.

Application Process
Applications can be submitted after filling out the Google form

-There is no application fee

-No age limit

Selection Criteria 

A panel of invited Jurors will review all the submitted films. The selection and Judging committee has the full authority to accept or reject any film. The decision of the Committee will be final, and no communication on this issue will be entertained. Only the selected filmmakers will be intimated.

Terms & Conditions

-Maximum film duration: 60 minutes.

-Regional language films require subtitles if they include dialogues.

-Submissions accepted via Vimeo and Google Drive links. Vimeo passwords must be provided in the Google Form; Google Drive links must be accessible to all.

-Each filmmaker/collective can submit up to two films: one short-mid duration (below 20 mins) and one long duration (20 – 60 mins), with separate Google Forms for each.

-Collective films must be submitted by one member, acknowledging collaborative efforts.

-Films made before November 2022 will not be considered.

-Multi-channel videos not accepted; films must be in regular screening format.

-Stills and footage may be used for non-commercial purposes.

-Selected films require high-resolution files; experimental films need Full HD with H.264 codec.

-Audio must be 2-track Stereo PCM, 48000hz sample rate, 24-bit depth; other formats should be downmixed to stereo.

-Films from previous EAEFF editions (EAEFF 22 and EAEFF 23) ineligible.

-No fees/film rentals for selected competition entries.

-Premier status not required; previously screened films accepted.

-Diploma/graduation films eligible.

All the mandatory fields should be filled up. Incomplete applications will not be considered for review.

The last date of application is 24 August 2024.

The final selection of films will be announced by the end of September 2024.
