Overview:
The Art1st Artist–Educator Grant 2026–27 supports artist-educators to work closely with school teachers and children through arts-based pedagogical practices. The grant aims to foster creative, critical, and art-integrated learning in school spaces by enabling sustained engagement with Mosamat Budhiya Shiksha Nirman Organization (MBSNS), a school located in Araria, Bihar. The programme emphasises collaboration, contextual learning, and empowering children from marginalised communities through sensitive and creative educational approaches.

Eligibility:
• Applicants must be Indian citizens (OCI and NRI applicants are not eligible)
• Open to applicants from any discipline with 5–6 years of consistent artistic and arts-based pedagogical practice
• Proficiency in Hindi is mandatory; knowledge of English is preferable
• Applicants should be interested in long-term, on-ground engagement with a school context

What’s Offered:
• Grant amount: ₹1,00,000 (One Lakh)
• Grant period: One year
• Opportunity to work closely with teachers and students in a child-centred, inclusive school environment
• Accommodation and food during school visits (basic accommodation provided)

Engagement Details:
• Approximately 45 days of physical school visits over one year (5 consecutive days per visit across select months)
• Monthly online engagements with the Art1st team and school for planning and feedback
• Final outcomes include an on-ground curated exhibition at the school, an online public presentation, and submission of reports
