OVERVIEW

The Emerging Curator Award 2027 is hosted by Backwater Artists Group, based in Cork, Ireland. It supports an emerging curator to develop curatorial practice and gain hands-on experience in exhibition production by working with the Backwater team to realise a Studio 12 exhibition/project during the 2027 programme.

• ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Open to emerging curators and recent graduates keen to develop their curatorial practice.
• International applicants are welcome, as long as they fit the emerging profile.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Prepare a PDF containing:
• Curatorial CV
• Exhibition proposal (up to 500 words) outlining concept and curatorial framework
• Biography
• Images of previous curatorial projects demonstrating curatorial approach and spatial use

• €2,000 curator fee

• Professional photography of the exhibition and a commissioned exhibition text.

Exhibition Slot: 4-week exhibition/project during the 2027 programme at Studio 12, Backwater Artists Group, Cork, Ireland.
