bEam arts | INTERNATIONAL ARTIST RESIDENCY WINTER/SPRING 2026 | Call for Applications

bEam arts is based in Thessaloniki, Greece and runs an International Artist Residency programme offering selected artists from diverse disciplines the opportunity to engage in focused studio practice, network with peers, and present work publicly.
The residency accommodates 1- or 2-month stays (for example, Winter/Spring 2026 periods).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Open to artists in all disciplines (visual arts, performance, design, film, architecture, literature, curatorial practices) who wish to engage in studio work and exchange.
- Applicants should have a clear interest in dedicating time to development of their practice in a shared creative environment, and be willing to engage with the peer community and possibly the local context.
- Duration: 1 month minimum, up to 2 months for selected periods.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Use the online application form on the bEam arts website.
- Prepare the following materials:
- Personal/contact information (name, email, address, phone, website or social media)
Preferred residency dates (within the listed periods)
- Artist statement (max 250 words) describing practice and interests
- Project proposal (max 250 words) outlining what you intend to work on during residency
- CV & portfolio (5-10 images including title, technique, date, dimensions)
- After selection, a deposit (usually 50% of the fee) secures the place.
- Selected artists are encouraged to secure funding to cover the residency fees, as the organisation is self-funded.
DATES AND DURATION
For Winter/Spring 2026, the listed periods are:
- 5 Jan – 2 Feb (1 month)
- 4 Feb – 4 Mar (1 month)
- 6 Mar – 5 Apr (1 month)
- 7 Apr – 31 May (2 months)
COSTS
- With accommodation: €1,850 per month.
- Without accommodation: €1,000 per month.
- For duo-artists (working in partnership): an additional fee (e.g., + €150) applies.
SELECTION CRITERIA AND BENEFITS
- Selection is based on clarity of the project proposal, quality of previous work, and willingness to engage in the residency community and context.
Residents receive:
- A dedicated individual studio (accessible with personal key) within a shared creative environment.
- Optional fully serviced private apartment (if selecting accommodation) near the studios.
- Access to a well-equipped communal workshop.
- Regular one-to-one mentorship and technical/curatorial support.
- Final group exhibition within bEam arts gallery space at the end of the residency.
- Visits to local art institutions, galleries, studios in Thessaloniki; opportunities to exhibit work beyond the residency (local hotels/cultural venues) and to sell work.
DEADLINE for the bEam arts International Artist Residency is for submitting your application (online) for the Winter/Spring 2026 cycle is December 31, 2025.
