Gallery Intern

Aicon Contemporary is seeking a motivated, hands-on Gallery Intern to join their New Delhi outpost. The individual will primarily assist the Director and work directly with them.
They are looking for a strong team player who is reliable, adaptable, and ready to step in wherever needed.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with data entry, cataloging, and maintaining inventory databases (Gallery Manager experience a plus; training provided)
  • Coordinating the safe handling, packing, unpacking, and transportation of artworks
  • Assisting with art fair installs and de-installs in India
  • Photo post production
  • Design and produce marketing and promotional materials (brochures, flyers, social media graphics, website visuals, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain gallery social media platforms
  • Ensure consistency with gallery branding across all materials.
  • Stay current with design and social media best practices.
  • Supporting social media initiatives and basic design tasks
  • Supporting the Gallery Director by liaising with artists, shippers and vendors
  • Keeping artist accounts updated with help from the supervisor
  • Running errands and assisting with general gallery upkeep
  • Helping maintain the gallery calendar and daily operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Photography, Museum Studies, or a related field
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Comfortable working in Photoshop and InDesign
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and taking direction
Schedule
  • Commitment of 4 days per week
  • New York Gallery hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–6pm
  • The individual has to work IST with the availability to communicate with the New York team in evenings.
  • Some flexibility required around installs, openings, and art fair preparation
