General Residency 2026 | Greece | Call for Applications

Deadline: 01/04/2026

Mudhouse Residency unfolds in the sun-washed village of Agios Ioannis in Crete, where artists work among stone paths, olive groves and the slow pulse of island life. The program gathers a small international cohort for dedicated studio time, group critiques, and workshops held across the village’s restored stone structures. It’s designed for artists who want deep focus, a tight creative community, and a setting that feels deliciously unplugged from the usual noise.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The residency is open to:

  • Emerging and established artists across visual, interdisciplinary and research-based practices
  • Individuals over 18 years of age
  • Artists who can commit to the full program dates
  • Applicants comfortable working independently in a rural setting

No academic degree is required. English proficiency is helpful for group activities, though not formally mandated.

  • Private or shared studio spaces across the village
  • Open-ended time for research, production and experimentation
  • Weekly group critiques and optional workshops
