What is Co-Creation
An artistic project in any discipline supported by Pro Helvetia as part of an equal artistic cooperation between partners from Switzerland and from a region covered by Pro Helvetia liaison offices

 

For Whom
Two artist partners – individuals, duos or collectives – whose collaboration was initiated as part of a residency, a research trip or previous joint projects. The prerequisite is that one partner has a connection to Switzerland and the other is artistically active in a region covered by a Pro Helvetia liaison office (see list of countries below).

 

Selection Criteria

  • One partner is a Swiss citizen or permanent resident in Switzerland and can prove a regular artistic presence at relevant events in Switzerland.
  • One partner is artistically active in a region covered by a Pro Helvetia liaison office.
  • At least one partner has completed a research trip or residency in the other partner’s region.
  • Alternatively, references to previous joint projects should be provided.
  • The application must be created jointly by both partners.
  • The co-creation process can begin no earlier than 1 October and must be completed within 18 months.

In addition to these specific criteria, the general requirements apply.

 

Financial Contribution

  • Fee for artists
  • Travel costs for both partners
  • Costs related to the co-creation process and the planned activities
  • If travel abroad is part of the co-creation project, artists with care responsibilities can apply for financial support of up to CHF 1,000 for one month (per artist) as a grant towards childcare costs or the travel costs of the children and, if necessary, a caregiver.

 

Content Of Application

The application must contain the following documents co-developed by both partners:

  • Project description (max. 4000 characters)
  • Implementation plan (including time schedule, division of roles, planned activities/presentations, process description)
  • Breakdown of budget in CHF (incl. information regarding financial support requested from third parties, if applicable)
  • Additional references compiled in a single PDF document (CV, video links, list of previous presentations/activities)
  • Joint declaration of intent/joint letter of motivation for the collaboration, signed by both partners

 

All documents are to be submitted in English.
