OPEN CALL: Senior-Level CG Generalist (Residency with Rashaad Newsome Studio)

Location: Remote

Rashaad Newsome Studio is seeking a senior-level CG Generalist to collaborate on the development of a new animated work during Newsome’s upcoming residency in India. The ideal candidate must be equally skilled in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, composition, and animating. A background or strong interest in creating animations for sci-fi genre films is essential.

Working closely with Newsome and his creative team, the selected collaborator(s) will:

• Develop full CGI scenes with a cinematic, realistic quality
• Work with our compositing artist to integrate CGI elements into practical footage
• Participate in a cross-cultural, experimental learning lab engaging Indian folk movement traditions and digital technologies

We strongly encourage applications from students and emerging professionals interested in animation, speculative fiction, and interdisciplinary art.

Skills & Requirements:

• Production : Modeling, sculpting, texturing, shading, lighting, rigging, animating, scripting, compositing, node setups
• Software/Technical : Modo, Maya, Houdini, Blender, Zbrush, Mari, Sculptris, Mudbox, Wings3d, Lightwave, Project Messiah, Photoscan, Meshlab, Nuke, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator
• Game Engines: InHouse engines, Godot (+scripting), Unreal (basic), Unity
• Programming: Python, C, Haxe, Blender Add-on Development
• OS experience: Windows, Linux, Mac Sequoia
