Sameksha | Portfolio Review | Call for Young Artists

Sameksha is hosting a portfolio review and mentoring session for young artists alongside the India Art Fair 2026, offering selected young artists a chance to interact closely with leading practitioners and curators.

EVENT OVERVIEW

  • IAF draws a large community of young and emerging artists
  • Hosted at the IILM campus in Lodhi Road
  • Designed specifically for artists who are practising since the last three years, focusing on guidance, feedback and career direction.

DATE, TIMINGS, AND VENUE

  • Date: 7 February 2026
  • Time: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
  • Venue: Integrated Institute of Learning and Management (IILM) Lodhi Road Campus

FORMAT & ELIGIBILITY

  • Format: Booth-style portfolio review where artists meet advisors in small, focused interactions to discuss work, ask questions, and seek critical and career guidance.
  • Eligibility: Young artists who have been practising since the last three years.
  • Selection: Artists will be asked to register through an online/social media announcement and a selection will be made from the applications, given limited review time per advisor.

ADVISORS/REVIEWERS 

The reviewers are established artists and curators with deep experience in contemporary Indian art and public art:

  • Shanthamani Muddaiah – a Bengaluru‑based sculptor and installation artist known for large‑scale charcoal and public works, including major commissions at Kempegowda International Airport.
  • Arunkumar HG – contemporary artist recognized for socially and environmentally engaged practice.
  • Kavita Nayar – senior printmaker and painter with a long exhibition history in India.
  • Chetnaa – contemporary visual artist whose work has been shown in Indian galleries
  • Yamini Telkar – curator and arts professional with experience leading art programmes and collections, including at Bengaluru’s international airport and as co‑founder of an art advisory.

These advisors will respond to questions on practice, portfolio building, exhibitions, residencies and professional pathways, giving recent graduates structured direction at a moment when India Art Fair naturally concentrates opportunities and networks in Delhi.
