Open Call for Fellowships for Living Waters Museum’s next exhibition, tentatively titled, Deccan Water Chapter.

About the Fellowship

Are you an artist or cultural practitioner, working at the intersection of water, community, and art? We invite you to apply for Living Waters Museum’s next digital exhibition. The Deccan Water Chapter will be a multimedia, multidisciplinary exhibition designed by creative practices through a three-month fellowship program. This program will explore the socio-cultural history, present dynamics, and future possibilities of water in the Deccan Plateau through an inclusive lens. Encouraging collaboration and co-learning with indigenous communities, the exhibition aims to inspire new ways of understanding water, science, and society.

Eligibility Criteria

• The fellowship is aimed at young people aged 18-40
• Applications from collectives or duos are welcome, but the grant amount will remain the same. All participants in the collective or duo must meet the above requirements. In the case of a collective or duo, the application must be submitted by one member of the group
• Must either live in the region or have extensive working knowledge and proven experience of the Deccan. The fellowship will not cover travel to the Deccan region
• A background in visual art, design, storytelling, cultural practice, or water research is preferred
• A good knowledge of English. A working knowledge of regional languages (Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and local dialects) of the Deccan is a plus.

• Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply via the Google Form linked below.
• Selected Fellows will develop one story over 8-10 weeks and will be awarded a stipend (see Call for Fellowships) and receive mentorship from experts, access to a dynamic network, and opportunities for further collaboration.
