In 1996, Monaco Prince Rainier III created 10 studios to host artists in exceptional conditions to help boost artistic life in the country. Since 2009, Monaco’s Department of Cultural Affairs has allocated these studios to emerging and established artists with innovative creative practices for artistic research and production.

The residencies will be awarded by an expert selection jury, based on the nature of the artists’ projects, and for a duration ranging from one to six months, with the possibility of renewal once.

Particular attention is paid to the residency project that has an international dimension:

Applicants must compile a hard copy or digital version that can be used without specific software, including the following documents:

• The application form, which can be downloaded below
• A biography or artistic CV
• A presentation of works already produced accompanied by a maximum of 5 visuals (dated, commentated, including videos and sound works)
• Press cuttings if appropriate (maximum 3)
