Inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s collection of poems, Les Fleurs du Mal or The Flowers of Evil, Anita Dube‘s metal sculpture from 1994 will be revived and extended into a large-scale installation. At once sensual and cerebral, Dube’s project — supported by MASH Sculptural Space – which takes the shape of a hollow cyborg with skeletal flowers, heads and thin bodies, angry tongues hanging out, reflecting the artist’s concerns with personal and societal loss in a technocratic age.
