Aicon Contemporary presents Birth of Another God, a solo exhibition by Sajal Sarkar. She reimagines the familiar Romantic landscape through a fractured, ominous lens. Desolate horizons are interrupted by towering structures assembled from fragments—urban debris, skeletal remains, and ambiguous forms that resist identification. Poised between realism and abstraction, these unstable “things” evoke the precarity of civilization and the search for order within chaos. Building on Perilous Home, Sarkar’s large-scale oil paintings deepen his exploration of life, death, displacement, and existential uncertainty.
