Gallery Maskara presents a solo exhibition by Madhu Das titled Breathing, not performing. In Breathing, not performing, Madhu Das turns this working-class skin into a fault line where bodies, landscapes and memory slip in and out of form, sparring with a media landscape that won’t quiet down, won’t stop reframing how we see ourselves, our labour, our unrest. Das’s work isn’t preoccupied with spectacle but with what happens when we sit inside the discomfort. The numbing repetition of a body trapped in its own rhythm. The body trying to hold its shape as the world keeps tugging at its seams. Everything feels slightly off-axis—familiar, but frayed; tender, but bruised.
