Champa Tree presents Garland of Memories, a group show featuring Keerti Pooja and Srinivas Pulagam.
Keerti Pooja’s works revolve around people in the bazaars. Her fascination with their daily jobs makes her romanticize and depict delicate details of their hands enlarged to draw the viewer’s gaze to the people engaged in mundane chores. Srinivas Pulagam’s works delve into the histories of ancient India and architectural elements of the temple structures of Hindu pantheons. In juxtaposition of histories, biographies, and in a continuum of traditions these artists with their own memories weave the garlands of imaginative worlds to construct visuals reflective of the suburban backgrounds and present-day practices.
Champa Tree is a contemporary art gallery designed to curate a vast and exclusive collection of young and emerging artists’ original and limited-edition art from across the Indian sub-continent.
The exhibition is part of the Delhi Art Week, a week-long celebration of the rich diversity of Indian contemporary and modern art in Delhi, taking place across four art zones, 37 galleries, two museums and several participating institutions.
