Saskia Fernando Gallery presents the works of multidisciplinary artist Pradeep Thalawatta in Go Home is Within Me, an exhibition informed by the Argalaya two years ago. Inspired by the spirit of solidarity the artist observed at Gota Go Gama, the exhibition reflects on resilience and the awakening of a shared political consciousness amongst Sri Lankan youth. Working with construction material such as sandpaper and tar and photographs of the site of protest, the artist draws parallels between the collective political aspirations of the masses and the private dreams and desires of the more intimate domestic sphere.
