Gallerie Nvya presents the exhibition GRAVITAS: A Journey from Within, celebrating Krishen Khanna’s legacy. In Krishen Khanna’s art, the Partition of India is not rendered as spectacle but as silence — the silence that follows rupture. His figures, burdened yet composed, seem to carry entire histories across the canvas. Born in 1925 in pre-Partition Punjab, Khanna witnessed the dislocation of millions, an experience that left an indelible mark on his vision. Rather than depicting violence, he painted its aftermath — the endurance, compassion, and moral weight that defined a generation forced to rebuild.
