Vadehra Art Gallery presents In Another Mode: Sudhir Patwardhan’s Drawings 1970–2000, curated by R. Siva Kumar. Bringing together 200 drawings spanning three decades, the exhibition explores Patwardhan’s intimate studies of people, the city and everyday life. Through expressionist realism, his drawings capture vulnerability, solitude, relationships and the changing landscapes of urban Mumbai. The exhibition traces the evolution of Patwardhan’s practice, from intimate sketches and observations made from life to larger, independent drawings. Together, the works reveal the artist’s sustained engagement with the human figure, memory and the psychological experience of the city.
