Renowned art writer and critic Gayatri Sinha will give a talk in memory of and honouring the late Satish Gujral (1925-2020), an artist, poet and architect who shaped a new identity and aesthetic for India.
Gayatri Sinha is an editor, art critic and curator based in New Delhi. She is the founder-director of Critical Collective, a knowledge portal on Indian visual culture. Sinha has curated extensively in India and abroad, including at Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada, India Art Fair, New Delhi, the Korean International Art Fair, the Festival of India in Bangladesh, The National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi, amongst others, and lectured across the world on Indian art. She has edited Voices of Change: 20 Indian Artists, Art and Visual Culture in India 1857- 2007, Indian Art: an Overview, Woman/Goddess, Expressions and Evocations: Contemporary Indian Women Artists of India. She is the recipient of a Ford Foundation grant (1998-2001), and the Tate Asia Research grant (2017). She is currently editing a double volume on Indian photography.
